My pseudonym for the time being is “Default”, until I come up with something better. I feel this is necessary due to the increasing prevalence of doxxing and harassment that has unfortunately become a norm as a result of political discourse.
I am from the Great Blue state of Massachusetts and am absolutely horrified about the direction our country is going. Not that all was perfect before, but these days we seem to be on the verge of freefall into the abyss.
Because of that, I’ve decided to channel my discontent into words. And I hope to find readers who agree with some or all of my points.
Not Free From Bias
This is not an unbiased source of news. While my goal is to keep up with current events to offer my take, my viewpoint will be highly opinionated. If my opinions don’t suit you then just be thankful that we continue to live in a free country, which means that you can also express your opinions on your own website. Freedom of speech means, after all, the freedom of others to say things that you disagree with.
Influences
Just to make clear what viewpoint you can expect, my influences come from a number of sources, including:
Jello Biafra, the former frontman for the legendary punk band, the Dead Kennedys. That band was the band that opened my eyes to national politics.
Noam Chomsky figures heavily in my influences as well. His matter of fact frankness and his ability to analyze the governments official sources and translate that information for the layperson was unparalleled.
From Robert Fisk, I learned just how ugly war is. War isn’t just in the movies, it has real, tragic human impact. And it is ALWAYS the innocent people who are caught in the crossfire who are forced to suffer the most.
Most recently, Pussy Riot has been added to the list. Their fearless criticism of the authoritarian regime that rules over their country is nothing short of commendable. Fearless and willing to pay the initial price for their dissidence, they relocated to safety outside of Russias borders in order to continue to bring their message about the state inside of Russia to the outside world.
These are just a few of the individuals and groups that have helped inform and reinforce my understanding and viewpoints of this complex world.
Disclaimer on The Use of AI
I do not use AI to manipulate or create false images and try to pass them off as real. I will occasionally use AI and other image manipulation tools to generate images that I clearly label as artificially generated and use in jest.
And being a solo operation at this point, I use AI for proofreading, but not content creation. This is just to improve readability, not to make AI slop.
