Where do you even begin with Donald Trump? There is no starting point. Either you recognize that he is an awful man, or you don’t.
Most of the insanity this year has centered on his policies as president, and to anyone not trapped under his spell, it has long been clear that he is both a horrific president and a horrific human being. I went to sleep last night fully expecting him to say or do something outrageous today—outrage has become his reflexive coping mechanism, a way to distract from the looming release of the Epstein files.
This morning, shortly after news broke of the murder of Rob and Michelle Reiner at the hands of their own son, Trump managed to sink even lower. Not only did he not even pretend to empathize with the couples daughter that discovered them, he blame the Reiners for their own deaths and, in the process, revealing just how deeply corrupted his heart really is.

What should have been a eulogy would up beginning with a condescending description of Reiner as a “tortured and struggling” director, pivoted almost immediately to blaming the victims for their brutal deaths—claiming they died “due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind-crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME”—and then swung, inevitably, into praise for himself.
Newsflash to MAGA: this horrific outburst should make it beyond clear that this term you’ve made up, Trump Derangement Syndrome, is fiction.
According to Trump, if your opposition to him and his performance in the Oval Office causes one of his followers to kill you, then the responsibility lies with you. There is nothing right about this.
And still, when Republican members of Congress are cornered by the press, the response will likely be a shrug while muttering “I didn’t see that post. I’ve been really busy not performing the duties I was elected to perform.”
There is no comparison here, even with the most heinous rhetoric that emerged after the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Donald Trump’s behavior even the most reprehensible thing anyone may have said then pale by comparison. This is the person who should be acting as the most respected individual in the world—and what is he doing? Showing just how shriveled his heart has become.
One day, the world will wake up to hear that an 80-year diet of fast food, Diet Coke, and rage has finally taken its toll. And when MAGA demands to know why the rest of the world isn’t sharing in their mourning, we will already have the most vivid proof of just how heartless the man was.
