Backed into a corner by the impending release of DOJ’s Jeffrey Epstein Files – a release he was dragged into supporting – Donald Trump is lashing out. The only way he knows how to lash out? Accusing others of the crimes he fears being accused of himself. This time, he’s so desperate he’s calling for the execution of elected officials on the grounds of sedition for daring to remind U.S. service members that they cannot be compelled to obey illegal orders.
This rollercoaster started with a post from Senator Elissa Slotkin on Elon Musk’s Twitter/X platform. Slotkin, joined by several other lawmakers, reminded military and intelligence personnel of a simple, foundational principle: their oath is to the Constitution, not to any one man.
In that post, Slotkin and her colleagues make clear that they are from the same military and intelligence communities that they are addressing. As members of the military and intelligence communities, they took an Oath to defend and uphold the Constitution. And as elected representatives, they took that Oath a second time.
These lawmakers know what they’re talking about:
- Senator Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) former CIA officer
- Senator Mark Kelly (D-NJ) former Captain in United States Navy
- Representative Chris Deluzio (D-PA) former Navy Officer
- Congresswoman Maggie Goodlander (D-NH) Former Intelligence Officer
- Representative Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA) former Air Force Officer
- Congressman Jason Crow (D-CO) former Paratrooper and Army Ranger
Their message can’t have been clearer: Illegal orders must not be obeyed.
But this simple restatement of military law was apparently too complex for Donald Trump’s chief ghoul, Stephen Miller, who promptly ran to Fox News—his emotional safe space—to manufacture panic. He and his host on Fox twisted Slotkin’s words into a call for the military to ignore any order from their superiors, conveniently avoiding the actual language that emphasized illegal directives.
And right on cue, Trump proved exactly why the #NoKings rallies took place by going full authoritarian.
On Truth Social, Trump accused these lawmakers of “sedition“, demanded they be arrested, put on trial, and even executed for the crime of reminding the military not to break the law.

This is coming from the man who spent years screaming “law and order” while trying to overturn an election, defy the Constitution, and bend the military to his personal whims.
What “Sedition” Actually Means
![sedition[si-dish-uhn]noun1. incitement of discontent or rebellion against a government.Synonyms: mutiny, insurrection2. any action, especially in speech or writing, promoting such discontent or rebellion.](https://i0.wp.com/civicanger.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/dictionary-sedition-definition.png?resize=1024%2C494&ssl=1)
There is nothing seditious about telling service members to follow the law. Unless, of course, the person in charge intends to issue illegal orders and is furious that someone is warning the troops ahead of time.
There is only one type of leader who considers obeying the Constitution to be an act of rebellion: a leader who has no interest in following it.
Republicans Finally Broke With Him—Now They Need To Stay Broken
By voting almost unanimously to release the Epstein files – (with the lone exception of Clay Higgins, who the fuck is he?) – Congressional Republicans finally demonstrated the faintest flicker of independence.
They need to hold onto that spine, because the President of the United States and his top advisor are now calling for the death of elected representatives for the “crime” of stating basic constitutional law. That alone should disqualify Trump from holding any office in a free country.
Trump has made it crystal clear:
- He does not respect the Constitution.
- He does not respect the law.
- He does not respect democracy
The only thing he respects is himself and the power that’s been bestowed upon him by 74 million mislead Americans, a Congress and Supreme Court that have been completely derelict in their duties to be “separate but equal” branches of government.
Thanks to a catastrophic Supreme Court decision declaring that presidents effectively operate above the law, he knows he can act with impunity.
Republicans Must Ask Themselves: Am I Next?
Two weeks ago, Republicans would have shrugged this rhetoric off. But now? After crossing him on the Epstein files?
Every last one of them – except Clay Higgins – needs to ask:
“Did voting against Trump make me his next target? Am I comfortable with a president who threatens political opponents? What happens when he turns that threat onto me?”
He will.
The President Is Scared—and It’s Making Him Dangerous
Barely a day after the Epstein Files Transparency Act hit his desk, Trump is already showing how panicked and enraged he is. His rhetoric has escalated to a frightening new level, and there is absolutely no reason to believe he’s anywhere near done.
He is a seditious danger to this country.
He needs to be removed from power before he can do even more damage than he already has. Republicans know this already. They just need to act.
